A brake shoe gathering for a drum brake of a vehicle is improved by the expansion of a dampness impenetrable covering material connected to the brake shoe, and particularly the brake shoe table whereupon an erosion liner will be removably verified. This covering material is adequately clung to in any event the part of the external surface of the brake shoe table which will be secured by the rubbing liner before the erosion liner is removably verified. The dampness impenetrable covering material is considerably non-adhesively attached to said rubbing liner and is ideally a cross-linkable polymeric material, particularly an epoxy-based glue.
